Mayor of Montego Bay and chairman of the St. James Municipal Corporation, 2008 – 2012.
Charles Sinclair is an attorney. He came onto the St. James council in the 2003 local government elections as councillor for the Flankers Division, and served as Mayor of Montego Bay from 2008 to 2012.
He did not leave local government when his term ended. He is councillor for the Montego Bay North East Division, and sits in the Senate of Jamaica as its Deputy President. In March 2024 it was his nomination that put the current Mayor, Richard Vernon, in the chair.
We have not been able to find a detailed published record of what his own mayoral term achieved, and we are not going to fill that gap with guesses. If you know this period of the city's history — or you were there — tell us and we will add it properly.
There is no photograph of Charles Sinclair that this site has the right to publish — a press picture of a living person belongs to the photographer who took it. If you hold one and can give us permission, we will use it.
