The area
Ironshore sits east of the city centre, between the airport and Rose Hall. It is one of Montego Bay's established residential areas: laid-out streets, houses rather than apartment blocks, and a mix of long-term residents and people who return seasonally.
Whitter Village and the shopping along the main road give it its own centre, so day-to-day errands don't mean going downtown. Sangster International Airport is a short drive west.
Scotchies, the open-pit jerk place most visitors get sent to, is on this stretch of road.
