Rose Hall

The coast road east: the great house, the golf, the big resorts and the convention centre.

The area

Rose Hall runs along the coast east of the city, between Ironshore and the parish boundary. It takes its name from Rose Hall Great House, the restored 18th-century plantation house on the hill above the road.

It is the most planned stretch of the Montego Bay coast: large resort hotels on the sea side, golf courses inland, the Montego Bay Convention Centre, and the shopping and restaurant developments that grew up around them.

What that means for property is scale — this is where the largest schemes in St. James tend to be built, and where villas and apartments sit inside managed estates rather than on individual streets.
